The Aesthetic Transformation and Media Innovation of Contemporary Digital Art in the Context of Technological Integration

With the rapid iteration of digital technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and interactive media, contemporary art has undergone a profound paradigm shift from traditional material‑based art to digital immersive art. As a new artistic form combining technology and aesthetics, digital art breaks the boundaries between traditional art creation and appreciation, and reconstructs artistic expression languages, aesthetic dimensions and audience participation modes. Adopting literature analysis, case study and comparative research, this paper systematically sorts out the evolutionary logic of digital art, compares core differences between digital art and traditional art in creation media, aesthetic connotations and presentation forms, and discusses its innovative features, practical dilemmas and future development trends. The research shows that contemporary digital art is marked by interactivity, immersion, virtuality and interdisciplinary integration. It expands the aesthetic boundary of traditional art, shifts aesthetic experience from single‑visual appreciation to multi‑sensory interaction, and endows art with new spiritual connotations and social values. Nevertheless, it is confronted with creation homogenization, insufficient humanistic concern, ambiguous aesthetic criteria and copyright protection challenges. Accordingly, this paper argues that future digital art development should integrate technological innovation with humanistic spirit, balance technical display and artistic connotation, and build a diversified and standardized ecosystem to achieve sustainable high‑quality development of contemporary digital art.
